Rollers: Not just for Grandma

With the constant advances in technology, it's easy to take shortcuts and leave the old, traditional methods behind. Take curling hair for example- the iconic images of girls at slumber parties with hair rollers stuck into their hair are now replaced with girls sizzling their locks with a curling barrel put on over 200 degrees. We're here to show you that even an old dog can win with old tricks.

Q: Won't using a curling iron produce the same results?
A: Curling irons are great at making beautiful curls in a time crunch. If you have time to spare, however, we recommended using hair rollers as they can hold your curls for longer, give you more volume, and have a less damaging effect on your hair.

Q: Hair rollers seem more complicated to use...
A: And we'll teach you the simple steps to achieve beautiful curls with our very own RICKYCare hair rollers!

Step 1: Prepping
Dry your hair with a setting product such as Jane Carter Wrap & Roll, then mist with a hairspray. We love the Iced Raspberry & Vanilla hairspray by Fudge Urban!

Step 2: They See Me Rollin'
Section your hair. Each section should be about as wide your rollers. Start with the top portion of your hair (the mohawk section) and have your roller a bit below the shortest strand of that section and start rolling towards your head.
Work your way down until you roll the rest of the sections. Take a hairdryer and blow it over your hair, making sure to apply heat evenly over the rollers.

Step 3: Tick-Tock
Wait for the rollers to completely cool down. It should take no longer than 15 minutes- but in the mean time, you can give yourself a mani-pedi, a spa bath, put your makeup on, whatever you want (as long as it doesn't mess up your hair, of course).

Step 4: Selfie-ready
Once you take out the rollers, go through your curls with a brush, and finish off your hair with some texturizing spray (hair spray could weigh down your curls, making it easier to fall flat by the end of the day). If you have frizz, use a hair smoothing product such as Ouidad Climate Control Frizz & Flyaway Fighter Taming Spray. (We recommend using a spray rather than a serum to avoid physical contact with curls. The more you touch your curls, the more they'll frizz!)
Finish off your freshly-styled hairdo with a cute accessory-- or don't -- just don't forget to take that obligatory selfie!
